Maximalist Art Inspired by Nature

About Me
I’m Manpher and welcome to my garden!
I’m a Louisiana native and have a deep love for the culture. The extravagance of French influences are a building block in all the artwork that has lead me to this point.
Anytime I’m not obsessing over making art, you can find me volunteering or helping out with my family. I have three handsome, mountainous nephews, an energetic nephew and niece by my father’s marriage, and loads of family pets that get plenty of attention.
Although I am primarily self-taught I have had some formal drawing and painting classes with the beautiful soul Mrs. Gail Hindelang Shelton at a little café/antique shop called the Pea Patch Gallery in Winnfield, Louisiana. Sitting in her studio and listening to an 80s playlist while practicing watercolor was one of my favorite times as a child. I always think of her fondly when I hear Lady in Red or Total Eclipse of the Heart.
These Maximalist Works are inspired by the beauty of nature and its magnificent array of flowers combined with the childlike wonder of looking through your first kaleidoscope. I work hard to use only natural materials and have a goal of making my artwork completely sustainable.
